Where is the leadership?

America elected Barack Obama to the highest office we can offer, to the presidency of the United States. We expect our presidents to lead, not to to kick the can down the road. We expect the president to represent the interests of America, and to lead us back to prosperity. Leadership requires courage and steadfastness in the face of criticism. Obama offers neither. As America faces its biggest challenges our president whines about those who dare to oppose his policies. And he plays golf.

Congress can't claim the high road either. First the House Republicans talk about cutting one hundred billion from the budget. Then a hundred billion becomes thirty-two billion. What part of 'broke' don't you cretins in Congress understand?

What the hell kind of man have 65,000,000 American voters elected to the presidency? A man who addresses the country almost daily and says absolutely nothing that makes sense. He speaks in cliches and refers to political opponents as 'enemies.' He pretends to care about our bloated budget deficit, then blithely [and insanely] proposes more spending. Congress is waffling too. It's up the American people now to stop these serial spenders before they spend us into oblivion.

Obama says he won't sign a budget bill with earmarks.

Newsflash: earmarks were outlawed.

Obama wants to phase out Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Oh, NOW that Chris Dodd and Barney Frank have destroyed the housing market, NOW we're going to phase them out. This decision begs the questions: what institutions will buy loans on the secondary market? Tax-Cheat Tim Geitner won't answer. Why is that? Who will benefit from phasing out Freddie & Fannie now? And why now? And why aren't Dodd and Frank held personally responsible for the devastation they caused?

Obama's irrational budget includes:
  1. Increase in spending for the Department of Energy by 22% over 2008 spending levels
  2. Increase in spending for the Department of Education by a whopping 35% over 2008 spending levels
  3. Increase in spending for the EPA by 30% over 2008 spending levels
  4. No taxpayer deductions for charitable giving [what happens to the social safety nets provided by charities]
Today few Democrats went on the record to defend this nonsense, because it is indefensible. Those facing re-election in 2012 know damn well they'd better shut up right now or they'll never be re-elected.

Where is the courageous leadership Americans deserve? Where are the men and women who will make the difficult decisions we absolutely must face or watch our nation dissolve in ruin? Who will step up? The American people will step up to the challenge. We stepped up November 2, 2010, and hit Washington and fifty state legislatures with a tsunami of real change.

Hear us, Mr. President and members of Congress. We'll make our voices heard every damn day from now till eternity. We the people are not going down without fighting to restore our country and the American way of life.
